Advanced Weapon Skills

There are 3 styles of melee combat generally known by the fighters of this land-

Warrior

The way of the Warrior, who believes in doing as much damage as possible to his or her foe as well as taking away their ability to fight.

Warrior Endurance- Cost to Learn 1xp.      Cost to Use N/A.

Every purchase of this allows you to buy 1 endurance that is a pool used to perform Warrior abilities. This may be purchased any number of times.

Strike- Cost to Learn 2xp.      Cost to Use 1 endurance.

This is the ability to observe weak points in an enemy and strike at them to do more damage in a single attack. Simply add the +10 bonus to your swing as though it were your base attack.

Thrust- Cost to Learn 4xp.      Cost to Use 2 endurance.

Same as Strike, but gives a +20 bonus.

Block- Cost to Learn 2xp.      Cost to Use 2 endurance.

 This is the ability to defend against blows that would have otherwise landed. A block defends against 15 points of damage, if the blow was 15 or less, no damage is taken. If it was more than 15, you subtract 15 and take the difference. Blocks are the only defense that can only be used to defend yourself.

Parry- Cost to Learn 4xp.      Cost to Use 4 endurance.

Same as Block, but defends 30 points of damage.

Disarm- Cost to Learn 3xp.      Cost to Use 3 endurance.

Must strike a weapon or shield, that item is knocked out of the target’s hand and may not be used for 5 seconds. Shields do not have to be dropped, but any strike landing on that shield counts as hitting you. This attack can only be defended against with parry or better.

Stun- Cost to Learn 5xp.      Cost to Use 5 endurance.

This attack renders the target unable to use skill or attack for 10 seconds. This skill may only be defended against by parry or better.

 

Assassin

The art of the Assassin, who is trained in quickly dealing with opponents with as little “resistance” as possible.

Assassin Endurance- Cost to Learn 1xp.      Cost to Use N/A.

 Every purchase of this allows you to buy 1 endurance that is a pool used to perform Assassin abilities. This may be purchased any number of times.

Block- Cost to Learn 2xp.      Cost to Use 2 endurance.

 This is the ability to defend against blows that would have otherwise landed. A block defends against 15 points of damage, if the blow was 15 or less, no damage is taken. Backstab- Cost to Learn 2xp.      Cost to Use 1 endurance.

This works as a strike attack, but may only be used to attack a target while standing behind them. This attack gives a +20 bonus.

Assassinate- Cost to Learn 4xp.      Cost to Use 2 endurance.

This works as a backstab, but gives a +40 bonus.

Speed Backstab- Cost to Learn 5xp.      Cost to Use 3 endurance.

 A speed attack that works like a backstab, but can be used from the front also.

Waylay- Cost to Learn 5xp.      Cost to Use 5 endurance.

This attack renders the target unconscious for 10 minutes, simply deliver the strike from behind an opponent and say “Waylay!”.

 

Defender

The path of the Defender, who puts defending him or herself as well as others over the ability to attack well.

 

Defender Endurance- Cost to Learn 1xp.      Cost to Use N/A

Every purchase of this allows you to buy 1 endurance that is a pool used to perform Defender abilities. This may be purchased any number of times.

Block- Cost to Learn 2xp.      Cost to Use 1 endurance.

Speed Parry- Cost to Learn 8xp.      Cost to Use 6 endurance.

This skill works like a parry, but will defend against speed attacks.

Disarm- Cost to Learn 3xp.      Cost to Use 3 endurance.

Knight

Upon learning all of the Warriors skills and 50 Warrior endurance, you may be begin training as a Knight. To learn these skills you must find a Knight willing to teach.

 

Knight Endurance- Cost to Learn 1xp.      Cost to Use N/A

Every purchase of this allows you to buy 1 endurance that is a pool used to perform Knight abilities. This may be purchased any number of times.

Power Strike- Cost to Learn 6xp.      Cost to Use 3 endurance.

Same as Strike, but gives a +40 bonus.

Shatter Strike- Cost to Learn 4xp.      Cost to Use 5 endurance.

If an item person in size or smaller is struck with Shatter Strike, it is destroyed. If you are struck with it, your armor is completely destroyed. This attack can only be performed with a blunt weapon and stopped with upper skill defenses.

Sever Strike- Cost to Learn 4xp.      Cost to Use 5 endurance.

Any limb struck with Sever Strike is completely severed and remains unusable until restored. This attack can only be performed with an edged weapon and stopped with upper skill defenses.

Deflect- Cost to Learn 6xp.      Cost to Use 6 endurance.

Same as Block, but defends 50 points of damage.

Final Strike- cost to learn 10xp     Cost to use 6 endurance.

This attack is a calculated strike that drops the target to bleeding to death. This attack can only be stopped with upper skill defenses.

 
Kai

The Kai are a brotherhood of highly skilled and deadly assassins. To this day no person who has tried to research their ways without teaching from a Kai has been able to master them. Those caught trying are usually found dead by stabbing wounds to the back and no sign of struggle. Upon learning all of the Assassin skills and 50 Assassin endurance, you may be trained as a Kai.

 

Kai Endurance- Cost to Learn 1xp.      Cost to Use N/A

Every purchase of this allows you to buy 1 endurance that is a pool used to perform Kai abilities. This may be purchased any number of times.

Dodge- Cost to Learn 8xp.      Cost to Use 5 endurance.

Sharpening their reflexes and toning their bodies for quick, fluid movement in battle and on the prowl give these warriors the ability to quickly sidestep any attack that does not have a radius effect.

Hide in Shadows- Cost to Learn 6xp.      Cost to Use 4 endurance.

Once in a shadow the Kai can conceal themselves by blending into the shadow itself, becoming invisible to the naked eye. This ability has struck fear into the hearts of the Kai’s enemies, as this unnatural bonding to shadow is so strong that even light cannot reveal the Kai- they simply disappear with the shadow and reappear once the light has passed. Attacking a Kai while bonded to a shadow is futile, as nothing has been known to hurt them in this state, even if you manage to see them.

Speed Stun- Cost to Learn 10xp.      Cost to Use 10 endurance.

 A speed attack that works like a Stun.

Speed Disarm- Cost to Learn 6xp.      Cost to Use 6 endurance.

 A speed attack that works like a disarm.

Deathstrike- Cost to Learn 10xp.      Cost to Use 10 endurance.

The target of this attack almost never sees it coming. A Kai, taking advantage of a turned back, can deliver a blow from behind that kills the target instantly. This works as a backstab, but kills the target. This attack can only be stopped with upper skill defenses.

 

Guardian

A Guardian is a sworn protector of the innocent and weak. They put themselves between danger and those who cannot stand against it, and those trained as Guardians become superior protectors because of it. Upon learning all of the Defender skills and 50 Defender endurance, you may be trained as a Guardian.

 

Guardian Endurance- Cost to Learn 1xp.      Cost to Use N/A

Every purchase of this allows you to buy 1 endurance that is a pool used to perform Guardian abilities. This may be purchased any number of times.

 

Master Parry- Cost to Learn 8xp.      Cost to Use 5 endurance.

This defense will stop any non speed weapon blow.

Martyr- Cost to Learn 4xp.      Cost to Use 1 endurance.

This skill comes from the passion of those sworn to protect. By diving in front of any attack within weapon reach, you are hit with the attack instead leaving previous target unharmed. This will only work against attacks intended to harm.

Magic Parry- Cost to Learn 8xp.      Cost to Use 5 endurance.

With the incredible reflexes a Guardian possess, they may actually parry any magic spell within weapon reach using a weapon they have focused on, causing it to have no effect.

Radius Parry- Cost to learn 8xp.     Cost to Use 5 endurance.

This is a parry that the user can affect a radius with. The Guardian can use a parry on everyone within his/her weapon reach that they choose.

 

Ranged Combat

These are the skills used when wielding any type of bow.

Bow

This is the basic knowledge of how to aim to do more damage and to stun with a bow.

Bow Endurance- Cost to Learn 1xp.      Cost to Use N/A

Every purchase of this allows you to buy 1 endurance that is a pool used to perform Bow abilities. This may be purchased any number of times.

Aimed Shot- Cost to learn 2xp.     Cost to Use 1 endurance.

This adds a +10 bonus to your attack.

Lucky Shot- Cost to learn 4xp.     Cost to Use 2 endurance.

This adds a +20 bonus to your attack.

Precision- Cost to learn 6xp.     Cost to Use 4 endurance.

This adds a +40 bonus to your attack.

Stun- Cost to learn 10xp.     Cost to Use 5 endurance.

This attack renders the target unable to use skill or attack for 10 seconds. This skill may only be defended against by parry or better.

 

Archer

Upon learning 50 Bow endurance and a lvl 3 bow proficiency, you may train as an archer. This intermediate level of ranged combat endows the ability to do much more damage and have versatile attacks.

Archer Endurance- Cost to Learn 1xp.      Cost to Use N/A

Every purchase of this allows you to buy 1 endurance that is a pool used to perform Archer abilities. This may be purchased any number of times.

Power Shot- Cost to learn 6xp.     Cost to Use 5 endurance.

This adds a +100 bonus to your attack.

Shatter Shot- Cost to learn 8xp.     Cost to Use 10 endurance.

If a weapon or shield is struck with Shatter Shot, it is destroyed. If you are struck with it, your armor is completely destroyed. This attack can only be stopped with upper skill defenses.

Piercing Strike- Cost to learn 6xp.     Cost to Use 5 endurance.

This adds Piercing to any attack. Piercing damage ignores armor and goes straight to hp.

Final Shot- Cost to learn 8xp.     Cost to Use 10 endurance.

This attack is a calculated strike that drops the target to bleeding to death. This attack can only be stopped with upper skill defenses.

 

Marksman

Upon learning 50 Archer endurance and a bow focus, you may begin acquiring skill as a Marksman. Marksmen are incredibly skilled ranged fighters with deadly accuracy.

Marksman Endurance- Cost to Learn 1xp.      Cost to Use N/A

Every purchase of this allows you to buy 1 endurance that is a pool used to perform Marksman abilities. This may be purchased any number of times.

Called Shot- Cost to learn 6xp.     Cost to Use 10 endurance.

This adds a +200 bonus to your attack.

Slay- Cost to learn 10xp.     Cost to Use 15 endurance.

This is an attack that kills the target instantly, and can only be defended against by upper skill defenses.

Speed Shot- Cost to learn 5xp.     Cost to Use 5 endurance.

This makes any attack with a bow a speed attack.
